Updates Michelle A. Copeland, President of Occupational Safety Resource Inc., has recently returned from India, where she presented participative two-day workshops in Chemical Process Safety in both Mumbai and Dehli. OSHA's new guidance document on Hexavalent Chromium.  OSHA has recently issued a new reader-friendly booklet "Hexavalent Chromium".  Hexavalent chromium is a powerful lung carcinogen and can also cause allergic reactions or asthmatic symptoms to workers who are overexposed. Hexavalent chromium is used in pigments, metal finishing, wood preservatives and fungicides. Workers may also be exposed to hexavalent chromium fumes generated during welding of chromium metal alloys.
